mf rightRecently Miguel released his third studio album “Wildheart” that has been receiving a decent amount of attention. From “Coffee” to “Flesh,” Miguel is constantly reminding us that he’s an artist to be reckoned with. Along with putting out his album, he also decided to put out a statement within particular mention to Frank Ocean. (who’s album we’ve been waiting on for almost 3 years) During the Sunday Times interview Miguel stated, “I wouldn’t say we were friends. To be completely honest- and no disrespect to anyone- I genuinely believe that I make better music, all the way around.” Pause. If you were alive when this statement got put out you know that Twitter had a field day with it. Sure, all artists should be confident in their work, but saying anything in reference to Frank probably wasn’t the smartest move. According to Rolling Stone, Frank is set to release his follow up album to the classic Channel Orange (which everyone is still playing the life out of) sometime this month. Fortunately for Miguel he decided to clear the air before things got too crazy by saying, “There’s no need to compare apples and oranges.” It’s definitely not confirmed if Miguel will ever top what he did on the breathtaking “Kaleidoscope Dream” and even more unclear if Frank Ocean will slay on his upcoming and forever anticipated album. If we’ve learned anything from these two, we know that nothing is ever promised. For instance when Frank Ocean got the Grammy for Best Urban Contemporary Album instead of Miguel in 2012. Guess there’s only room for one of these artists this summer. Who do you think will have the better album? Let us know by commenting below!
